Owls in Year 3

We had a wonderful visit to see the owls at the Sacred Heart High school this afternoon.

The children all stroked the barn owl, some held the small tropical screech owl and the largest owl of all the eagle owl (male) the children above held him. They learnt that owls can hunt at dawn, dusk and through the night. The owls in captivity all lived far longer than in the wild (some over 20 years) when their lifespan in the wild can be only 2 years.
