Year 4 visit Vindolanda

Year 4 enjoyed a great day at Vindolanda and the Roman Army Museum.  They met archaeologists, who explained their methods of working and the exciting things that they had found.  Some children were lucky enough to hold a piece of Roman roof tile that had just been excavated.  The children explored the Roman site, then visited the Vindlanda museum.  Did you know that Roman boxing gloves have been found?  Finally, we went to the Roman Army Museum, where we had a very unusual   teacher in the classroom.  He spoke some of the lesson in Latin .

Thank you, Year 4 for your excellent behaviour ( it was commented on by several other visitors to the site)
